Course Request and Closeout Process
Emergency Managers, agency, and jurisdictional training Local Points of Contact (LPOC) can request delivery of NIMS/ICS, G “field delivery”, and consortium courses by submitting a Course Request Form and course agenda to EMD.training@mil.wa.gov. The State Training Program processes these requests as they receive them — dependent on available resources.
Emergency Managers, agencies and LPOC(s) should participate in the annual Integrated Preparedness Planning Workshop (IPPW) process to identify training capability gaps, request state training support, and coordinate course requests with neighboring jurisdictions and the State Training Program. Course requests should align with the agency or regional IPP.
Requests to conduct NIMS/ICS, G and Consortium courses should be submitted at least 45-60 days in advance to allow enough time for course processing, posting to the State Training Calendar and communication to external stakeholders across the enterprise.
Upon completion of a NIMS/ICS, G, or Consortium course, the requesting agency/jurisdiction must submit the Course Closeout & Certificate Request Form and participant sign-in sheet(s) (in-person NIMS/ICS and G courses only) to ensure course participants receive their certificates. Consortium courses are certificated by consortium partners; however, the State Training Program requires the form to closeout all NIMS/ICS, G and Consortium courses.
To request local delivery of FEMA-certificated courses (“L” courses), to include National Emergency Management Basic Academy (NEMBA) and All-Hazard Position Specific (AHPS) courses, please reach out to EMD.training@mil.wa.gov. The State Training Officer will assist in the course request, coordination and closeout with the National Disaster & Emergency Management University (NDEMU). Requests to conduct “L” Course should be submitted at least 60 days in advance.
