Announcements
A new Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) round is now available in Washington state due to two recent Major Disaster Declarations: DR-4759-WA, federally declared on Feb. 15, 2024 (Wildfires) and DR-4775-WA, federally declared on April 28, 2024 (Winter Storms, Straight-Line Winds, Flooding, Landslides, and Mudslides). To administer these HMGP grant application rounds, EMD will use a single, unified timeline and submission process. WA State Emergency Management Division (WA EMD) is responsible for coordinating with FEMA to administer this grant round.
While HMGP grants are available to eligible entities statewide, funding priority for this round will be given to the below-listed jurisdictions specifically named in FEMA’s DR-4759 and DR-4775 disaster declarations, including all eligible entities located within them. Prioritized entities must still meet all eligibility requirements and submission deadlines.
Clallam County | Clark County | Colville Confederated Tribes |
Cowlitz County | Ferry County | Grays Harbor County |
Island County | Jefferson County | King County |
Klickitat County | Lewis County | Mason County |
Okanogan County | Pacific County | Skagit County |
Skamania County | Spokane County | Wahkiakum County |
Whitman County |
Eligible entities are invited to submit Pre-Applications expressing their interest in applying for grant funding under the DR-4759/DR-4775 HMGP Round. Pre-applications will not be accepted after the deadline: Aug. 9, 2024. See the documents below for more information:
