Washington National Guard Engineer Company set to deploy to Kuwait


CAMP MURRAY, WA – After providing critical support to the search and recover efforts following the devastating State Route 530 Landslide in Oso, Wash. in March 2014, more than 150 members of the 176th Engineer Company will deploy to Kuwait in support of on-going missions in the region.

The Snohomish based company will conduct vertical construction missions to include new construction, remodels, tear-downs, and everything from painting to laying concrete to electrical work.

The 176th Engineer Company routinely travel to the Kingdom of Thailand as part of the National Guard’s State Partnership Program to construct schools with the Royal Thai Army. This will be the unit’s first deployment in support of combat operations.

Approximately 350 members of the Washington National Guard are currently serving in locations around the world.

The citizen soldiers and airmen of the Washington National Guard are dedicated to the mission of safeguarding lives and property in Washington State, and serving as sentinels for freedom overseas.
