SFC Michael Ottolini

Killed in action November 10th 2004


[SFC Michael Ottolini] The Washington National Guard regrets to announce the death of Sergeant First Class Michael Christopher Ottolini, age 45, a California Army National Guardsman deployed with the 81st Brigade Combat Team in Iraq.

SFC Ottolini died on November 10th, after an improvised explosive device exploded near his vehicle about one mile from LSA Anaconda, near Balad, Iraq. He was promoted to SFC from Staff Sergeant posthumously. SFC Ottolini was a member of Company A, 579th Engineer Battalion, located in Petaluma CA, a subordinate unit of the 81st Brigade headquartered on Camp Murray, Tacoma WA.

Major General Timothy Lowenberg, the Adjutant General of the Washington National Guard, and Brigadier General Oscar Hilman, Commander of the 81st Brigade Combat Team, as well as the entire Washington Military Department extend their deepest sympathies to SFC Ottolini's family and loved ones.
